New Hope’s first worship service was on January 5th,1992. The church was started by a group of believers whose church had started down the slippery slope of liberalism. It was because of this trend, with a desire to be faithful to the Scriptures that this group called U.S. Navy Chaplain Robert Needham to be her first pastor. Pastor Needham labored faithfully at New Hope for 20 plus years, and continues to serve at the presbytery level. After the announcement of Pastor Needham’s retirement in 2012, New Hope called Kevin Medcalf to be her next pastor. New Hope was blessed by the teaching and preaching of Pastor Medcalf until fall 2017, when the duty of caring for extended family called him back to the east coast.
In mid-2018 the congregation of New Hope Hanford extended a call to Pastor Arthur Fox to serve as teaching elder. Pastor Fox accepted the call and was installed in Hanford at the beginning of October, 2018. The family of believers at New Hope Hanford continue to seek the Kingdom of God together through Sunday worship, weekly studies and fellowship, monthly shared meals, local outreach and ministry, and the proclaiming of the Gospel of Christ in all matters of doctrine and life. The congregation is also pursuing the search for permanent ownership of a worship building suitable to the needs of ministry in the near future.
